  1. How do I relieve a pinched nerve in my upper back?
I have had a cold & from coughing so much I pinched a nerve in my upper back right under my shoulder blade . How do I relieve it? Please help!

    • It may not be a nerve it might be something else. You may have irritated the rib head. This is very common with heavy coughing and sneezing. There is no way to tell just based upon symptoms you have described. There is aslo other important history to be considered. I would recommend a visit to a chiropractor for an evaluation to get to the cause of the problem.

  2. How do I know If I have a pinched nerve in my upper back?
right on my spinal cord on my upper back just below my neck I have extreme pain and in will not go away. I can turn my head with out pain but jus sitting here and looking down really hurt. What does a pinched nerve feel like.

    • this sounds like a problem that chiropractic could easily fix. you should see a chiropractor since they specialize and are the best for neck pain.

  3. How do you tell the difference between a pinched nerve and a muscle knot?
Since yesterday morning, my upper left back has been hurting me because I slept on it wrong. Yesterday, it felt like a muscle knot and it felt more relieved when rubbed. But today, it still hurts a lot but it feels like a pinched nerve. I don’t know which one it is, so I don’t know how to treat it. HELP!!! Any advice is accepted. Thanks in advance!

    • It doesn’t matter. Take some Advil or Aleve and rest on a heating pad. It will go away in a couple days.

  4. I have waited almost a year for epidural injections for cervical & lumber. Do they work?
I was injuried in 2005, I have 6 bulging disc multi level 3 lower back with a pinched nerve. Three upper neck. Also in my left shoulder a impigment. My left elbow epicondylitis, apnea, depression. And cognitive disorder anxiety disorder. And much more. What should I expect from California workers comp. Or should I just find me a new body?

    • I had the epidural injections 3 times in the lower back since 2002. They are a temporary fix to an ongoing problem. I also had the nerves on both sides of my neck burned in July 2007. There was relief for almost 9 months but it is time to get it done again. I have ulnar neuropathy in both arms and have yet to get relief. The health problems you mention are enough to give any one a lot of anxiety and cause depression. Since the injury happened at work, I would get a workers comp attorney because waiting a year for treatment is a lot of needless suffering. I think, in most states the statute of limitations is 2 years. I learned the hard way by not getting an attorney and now cannot work and had to apply for disability 2 years ago and I am still waiting- Please do not wait because life without money really stinks-TAKE CARE OF YOU NOT YOUR EMPLOYER!

  5. How long does it take for a pinched nerve to heal in the lip?
So i got hit in the lip yesterday my upper lip, on the right side. the right side of my upper lip has been numb since then. Its almost like when you go to the dentist and they use something to numb the mouth type of feeling. I believe that it is a pinched nerve of the sort. but i could be wrong. my left side of the lip is fine. there is no swelling or bruising. i just need to know how long before it will heal and what i should do. thanks!

  6. Did you experience a pinched nerve during the 2nd half of your pregnancy? What did you do to alleviate pain?
When I was pregnant (4 months on) I had an upper back pain. It always started right below my shoulder blades, on either side, and it felt like a radiating pain. It happened after 20 minutes of standing up, so groceries or any kind of outing was horrible for me. Sometimes I got the pain depending on what kind of chair I was sitting on. Has anyone experienced this? Was it pinched nerve? What did you do that helped it?

I’m not planning on trying to getting pregnant again until later this year, but I just want to know what I can do to help in case it happens again.
I was seeing a chiropractor at first, but then we moved so I stopped. And I was a little scared of getting adjusted once I got big. I guess I’ll just have to make sure I go to my chiropractor regularly all through out my next pregnancy. Thanks.

    • Call your chriropractor! I had this problem and he fixed it right away, when your preggers it puts your spine under alot of strain, and i just needed ajustments :) not only that but that lady comes in and gives you a massage in the area thats bothering you when hes done, its to die for :P
